The coffee is grown by Edilberto Torres Sanchez, a second-generation coffee producer from San Antonio, Huabal. Edilberto grows Catuai and Castillo varieties on his farm at an altitude of 1600 masl. Edilberto started using natural processing last year after several successful trials and yielded excellent coffee quality. The Huabal region in the province of Jaén, where this coffee comes from, is one of the most developed regions in terms of coffee quality in Peru. Huabal has a lot of potential for coffee, but due to poor infrastructure, many producers lack the resources and knowledge to exploit that potential. Planting elevations range from 1200 to 2100 masl, but most producers RRC works with are above 1800 masl. Many producers in Huabal have reinvented their farms by growing catimores, supported by governments and multinational buyers, and at certain planting altitudes with excellent results along with improved quality management resulting in higher grain quality. Now, confident of their excellent quality, more and more coffee producers in Peru have begun to replant coffee beans such as caturra, bourbon, and catuai, with good management and geography. The characteristics of the soil in the growing area have produced better quality coffee. In addition, the characteristic of the Huabal region that spans many mountains means that climatic and soil conditions can vary considerably, with some areas having wet and red soil conditions similar to Africa and others. dry and hot. All of this contributes to creating delicious, quality coffee beans that carry a variety of flavors.
